At the workshop, you will:
- Explore the relationship between forest health, property management and wildfire.
- Learn best practices for protecting your property and creating safety and evacuation plans.
- Learn about federal and state programs to assist landowners.
- Hear how local landowners are creating community wildfire protection plans to maximize their impact and leverage resources.
Workshop partners are the Custer County Office of Emergency Management, Wet Mountain Fire Protection District, Custer County Conservation District, Colorado State University Extension, Colorado State Forest Service, the USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service and San Isabel Land Protection Trust.
