Cheryl Swartz

Cheryl Swartz began studying fine metal and jewelry at Bowling Green State University In Ohio, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Art Education.

Cheryl began her career as an art teacher in the public schools and eventually devoted her artistic pursuits to designing and creating jewelry in gold, silver and gemstones.

The artwork she features at Art for the Sangres is locally inspired. Themes include Dark Sky, Aspen and a piece inspired by Colorado’s mining history.

“When I observe the beauty around me, my mind seems to translate it into jewelry,” Cheryl said. “I abstract what I see into little images made of gold, silver and gemstones.”

Cheryl’s work is sold in several galleries and at her studio-workshop in Westcliffe, CO, the town she calls home.

  • "The Hood Family placed a conservation easement on our ranch because it gave us a chance to preserve the land as undeveloped property while allowing the operation of the ranch to continue to make ranching decisions as we have always done. It also provided funding to establish retirement funds and an investment portfolio, providing long-term income."
